Today, on March 12, 2024, in Kyiv at the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an election was held for the head of the Ukrainian part of the Ukrainian-Korean Business Council.
During the meeting, various potential steps to encourage Ukrainian-Korean business cooperation were discussed, particularly in the fields of IT, renewable energy, infrastructure projects, the agricultural sector, finance and investment, and the chemical industry. Ukraine has a keen interest in adopting the positive experiences of Korea in developing areas such as private entrepreneurship, supporting systems for small and medium-sized businesses, exploring foreign markets, and diversifying risks. This experience could prove highly beneficial for Ukraine’s journey towards European integration.
The meeting focused on electing a new head for the Ukrainian part of the Ukrainian-Korean Business Council and revitalizing its activities for the future.
Roman Grygoryshyn, CEO of ITOXI Ukraine, was elected to this position. During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Korea International Trade Association and proposed establishing a permanent operational office for the business council, along with creating an information resource to cover and systematize all activities related to the relationship between our countries. Additionally, he invited Ukrainian businesses interested in cooperation with Korean partners to join the Ukrainian-Korean Business Council.
Mr. Alex Cheon, CEO of ITOXI Corporation (Korea), also attended the meeting and expressed his profound optimism regarding the prospects of collaboration between Ukraine and Korea. Highlighting the successful establishment of ITOXI UA, a joint venture in Kyiv, Mr. Cheon emphasized the potential for fruitful partnerships and shared endeavors between the two countries.
“The collaboration between Ukraine and Korea holds immense potential for mutual growth and prosperity across various sectors,” remarked Mr. Cheon. “Through dialogue, partnerships, and shared endeavors, we can harness this potential to foster greater economic cooperation and cultural exchange between our two countries.”
The Ukrainian-Korean Business Council, operating on principles of voluntarism and equality among its members, remains committed to facilitating productive partnerships and fostering an environment conducive to bilateral trade and investment.
As both nations continue to explore avenues for collaboration and innovation, the prospects for a brighter and more prosperous future for Ukraine and Korea appear increasingly promising.
