The Defense Procurement Agency of the Ministry of Defense and the Korean automobile manufacturer KG Mobility Corp (SsangYong) signed a memorandum of cooperation in procuring transport for the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“To conduct efficient pickup purchases, it is important to establish direct cooperation with manufacturers. The absence of additional intermediaries when concluding a contract will allow us to obtain the most favorable prices and provide the military with more transport,” noted Marina Bezrukova, Director of the Defense Procurement Agency.
The Agency has already developed proposals for changes in legislation, allowing the purchase of pickups and other goods necessary for the needs of the Armed Forces without excise tax, duties, and VAT. Plans include signing several direct agreements with major pickup manufacturers to diversify risks and ensure the best price offers.
